Book Talk: Is 'Dyrwolf' the YA fantasy for you?

22/1/2021

For the second video in the series, I'm talking about a YA fantasy called 'Dyrwolf' by Kat Kinney.  Yes, it definitely has werewolves in and I'm a big fan of those supernatural creatures! Different setting to what I normally read werewolves in so be sure to check out what the book is about.

Let me know what you think of the reading recommendation in the comments!

Book talk: Should you read 'The Markings'?

Hey lovelies! This is the first in a series of videos discussing - you guessed it - books! Having read and enjoyed books since I could independently read, I wanted to give something back to the book community. Of course, with another lockdown upon us, what better way to spend some time, whether you need an escape to wind down or find more time on your hands.

Check out the first video then where we discuss 'The Markings'!

I would love to hear from you about the video, what you liked or what you would like to see as part of these reading recommendations and book talk.

As always, hop over to youtube to like the video and subscribe - not only does this support me but also helps video be seen by more people. Let's help readers connect with more books!

Book review: The Markings, book 1 in The Markings Series

By: Catherine Downen
Genre: YA Fantasy (Romance) definite future dystopian feel too
Books in series: book 2, Crowning Keys, due 12th January 2021
My conclusion: a strong start for a debut novel, story is fast paced and many of the characters become well loved by the end. The best thing about this book? The story. The plot was intriguing with surprises leaping out everywhere!

We’re talking gifts of the senses, we’re talking betrayals, we’re talking prophecies. Fast paced adventure!

Book Review: ‘Of Water and Moonlight’, Book 1 in Thunderbird Academy

12/6/2020

By: Valia Lind
Genre: YA Paranormal Romance
Books in the series: Of Water and Moonlight, OF Destiny and Illusions, Of Storms and Triumphs
My conclusion: intriguing story line – I want to know more; confusing because of unknown previous books (but can still read these as standalones); a feisty, ‘knows her own mind’ main character; and finally, there’s hunky, possessive shifter yumminess.

A world of magic, shifters, fae and more set at Thunderbird Academy; Maddie vows to find out who took her father, learn to destroy ‘the Ancients’ and navigate her feelings for the werewolf Aiden!

By: T. M. Hart
Genre: Adult fantasy romance (18+)
Books in series: Shadow’s Kiss, Shadow’s Touch, Shadow’s Due, Shadow’s Fall
My conclusion: a fantastic, well developed fantasy background with an immense romance that takes the reader into the depths of despair and the heights of euphoria.
