Hello and welcome back fantasy lovers! Let’s introduce you to all the roles that go into creating those magical worlds.
Picture
Planner:

The one who plans and outlines the first draft. Discovers that plot and characters don’t always get on. Has a hard time making sure plot holes are avoided despite plentiful read throughs of notes. You can usually find her with a ton of post its scattered about her person wondering how the heck she happened across ANOTHER plot hole.
Writer:

The one who drafts. She pours her heart, her soul and numerous tears into the creation of her work. All the ideas come together in her beautiful prose, that is, until she forgets what words mean and has to look them up on google. You can usually find her holding her mug, proudly showing off her book series.

Editor:

The one who painstakingly and frustratingly corrects the typos and rewords the sentences that don’t make sense. She often wonders if writer Rhian even knows English. Editor Rhian conveniently forgets that she is terrible at tense work. You can usually find her cursing at writer Rhian for using ‘as’ a hundred times in one chapter, and sometimes even tutting at Planner Rhian for yet another plot hole.
Publisher:

The one who focuses on the business and technical aspects. Loves having all the editorial decisions regarding cover, blurb and  formatting but will also complain about all the choices she has to make. Keeps a squinty eye on non-existent finances. Has no clue on key words and meta data but she’ll make darn sure she acts like she does. Spends thirty hours figuring out how to upload a manuscript when it should have taken thirty minutes. You can usually find her crying into her laptop about how technology hates her.

Social media manager:

The one who makes reels and videos and posts about stuff, typically book related if she stays on track. Often wonders if she’s posting into a void. Pretends she doesn’t need people to like her but deep down she NEEDS everyone to love her, k? Makes a fool of herself online but is *mostly* having fun with a creative freedom she’s never had before. You can usually find her doom scrolling Instagram for ideas or taking random photos/footage ‘just in case’.
And there you have it, the main roles of Rhian Edwards author. Do you see yourself as having ‘multiple roles’?
