To Fringe or not to Fringe!

Okay, so that madness of lock-down has finally gotten to me and I've done something you probably shouldn't on your own: I decided I was going to cut my fringe.

Obviously, I decided I should record this so here is the video below! Further down I have documented the first week with my fringe as I did this last week. Enjoy a little glimpse into my crazy lock-down actions!
Firstly, I am so, so sorry to any hairdressers out there, including my own. It'll grow out and I promise to get it done professionally when this is over (along with a colour because greys are coming through - I'm 28 guys, what's that about?!).

I feel like  should probably give a little back story to this decision but in all honesty, there isn't that much to it. I was on a face call with my gals and I spoke about doing something drastic. At first, they did try to talk me out of it as they're good like that but, as time went on and they realised I was somewhat serious, they encouraged that I filmed it. Typical best friends for you. I took them seriously and I documented it! Now, I'm sharing my madness with you all.

I really don't know what possessed me to try this at home, by myself, especially as I've normally been quite against change and protective of my hair (goodness only knows why). This was very out of character for me and I thank my lucky stars it turned out reasonably well!

So to get into the filming mode, as I don't normally do this, I filmed doing my makeup as well (which you can't see in the video) but the issue with my brows was too good not to share and so made it in at the end as bonus material. Honestly, I laughed so hard that I had to stop filming for a bit! Makeup is not my strong suit and I end up winging that too! Perhaps I'll try some dramatic styles whilst on lock-down - I will end up looking like a clown but that's what experimentation is all about, right?

In the interest of taking this seriously, I did take pictures throughout the week. On some mornings I woke up with, umm, questionable hair.

All in all, I don't think I did a bad job, like, yes, clearly it needs a tidy up by an actual hairdresser but I'm kinda digging the new look!
Friday
Saturday (woke up like this)
Saturday (tried pushing to one side)
Sunday (quick re-straighten)
Monday (headband easy day!)
Tuesday (hair needed a wash so dutch braids it was!)
Tuesday (wind took it)
Wednesday (epic morning hair!)
Wednesday (washed and dried hair - no styling yet)
Thursday (fancied some curls!)
I want to end by just saying that you really probably shouldn't cut your own hair, especially cut a whole new fringe! I also cut my husband's hair as it was driving him crazy and I probably felt capable of doing my own for something to do. By a stroke of luck, I didn't do too bad and I get to try out a fringe for a bit but I definitely do not suggest you do this!

Have you done anything out of character during lock-down?

You're braver than me - I'll have to trim my fringe soon as its forming a curtain over my eyes. I'm dreading it, and I don't have any sharp scissors so it should be interesting! I love the new look Rhian - looking forward to some clown pics :)
